Universal Server Time & Daily Reset Benchmark
All daily parameters, risk thresholds, and back-office metrics at P1 Prop Markets—including End-of-Day (EOD) balance snapshots, Maximum Daily Loss limits, Trailing Drawdown high-water marks, and Minimum Trading Day transitions—are strictly synchronized to 00:00 MT5 Server Time (5:00 PM New York Close). Your dashboard analytics, risk management systems, and MT5 terminal clock reset simultaneously.
What time zone does the trading platform use? Our MT5 trading platform operates on the industry-standard "New York Close" time.
This means the internal clock on your trading platform is permanently anchored to the global market close at 5:00 PM New York Time (EST/EDT). Exactly when New York hits 5:00 PM, your platform clock strikes midnight (00:00 Server Time).
Because New York observes Daylight Saving Time (DST), our MT5 server automatically shifts its time zone twice a year to maintain this perfect alignment:
☀️ Summer (March to November): The server runs on GMT+3.
❄️ Winter (November to March): The server shifts to GMT+2.
Why do we use this setup? Anchoring the platform's midnight to 5:00 PM New York ensures a clean, accurate 5-day charting week. If the platform ran on a standard UTC clock, the global Forex markets opening on Sunday evening would create a tiny, 2-hour "Sunday candle" on your daily charts. Our setup prevents this, keeping your technical indicators and daily moving averages perfectly accurate.
When do my Daily Limits and Dashboard metrics reset? Our prop back-office systems and your trader dashboard are 100% synchronized with the MT5 platform clock.
Unlike some platforms that run their risk calculations on a different external time zone, all of our automated metrics execute at exactly 00:00 MT5 Server Time. This includes:
End-of-Day (EOD) balance snapshots
Maximum Daily Loss recalculations
Trailing Drawdown high-water mark updates
Best Day Rule calculations
Daily profit caps and dashboard analytics
Do I need to calculate time zones to know when my day resets?
