Can I hold trades overnight or over the weekend?

Overnight and weekend holding on P1 - allowed on Swing, not on Day - and the gap and swap risks to plan for.

Important: Only Swing accounts can hold positions overnight or over the weekend. Day accounts must close every position intraday.

It depends on the trading style you chose for your challenge. Day Trading accounts must close all positions within the same session - no overnight or weekend exposure - so you finish each day flat. Swing Trading accounts can hold positions overnight and across weekends to capture multi-day moves.

If you’re on a Swing account, keep two things in mind. Gap risk: prices can jump when the market reopens after a weekend or a major news event, and any loss from a gap counts exactly like any other market movement - it can push you into your Maximum Daily Loss or Maximum Total Loss. Swap costs: holding a position overnight incurs a financing charge that affects both your floating and realised P&L and counts toward your limits. Size your positions with both in mind before the close. (The 3-Day Zero Swap Fee add-on waives swaps for a position’s first three days.)
