Using EAs, Bots, and Automated Trading Systems
Q: Are Expert Advisors (EAs), bots, and automated trading systems allowed?
A: Yes. You are welcome to use Expert Advisors (EAs), bots, custom scripts, and other algorithmic systems to execute your own trading strategy on P1 Prop Markets.
Automation itself is fully permitted. You can execute your strategy however it suits you—manually or fully automated—provided that the underlying strategy and its execution strictly comply with our Trading Objectives and rules.
Prohibited Algorithmic Practices
While bots are allowed, they cannot be used to bypass our core trading rules. The following practices remain strictly off-limits, whether executed manually or through an automated EA:
Copy Trading: Mirroring another individual's live trades or utilizing automated signal services that copy third-party positions into your account.
High-Frequency Trading (HFT): Strategies designed to exploit platform execution speeds, tick data, or price feed latencies rather than relying on genuine market analysis.
Arbitrage: This includes latency arbitrage, statistical arbitrage, and hedge-based arbitrage across different accounts or price feeds.
Other Prohibited Practices: Any other exploitative practice outlined in the P1 Trading Playbook and Prohibited Practices policy.
⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING: If your EA, script, or automated system is designed around a prohibited practice—or breaches a core risk rule (such as Max Total Loss)—it will result in an immediate challenge failure and the voiding of any pending payouts. It is your responsibility to understand exactly how your automated system executes trades.
Allowed Standard Tools
Ordinary trading platform tools are entirely restriction-free. You are always allowed and encouraged to use:
Charting software and custom technical indicators
Price alerts and market scanners
Manual order management tools (e.g., automated Stop-Loss, Take-Profit, or trailing stop triggers)
Calculators
